When you use ZeroGaps, we collect:

• Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed)
• Study data: Practice answers, test scores, progress records, study preferences, and diagnostic results
• Usage data: Session activity, feature usage, and study streaks
• Billing data: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status but do not store credit card numbers

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and personalize the study experience
• Track your progress and generate score predictions
• Create personalized study plans and identify weak areas
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Send notifications you have opted into (study reminders, weekly reports)
• Improve the Service

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Stripe: For payment processing
• Hosting providers: To store and serve the application

We do not share your study data, scores, or progress with any third parties.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can export all your data at any time from Settings > Data & Privacy. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted from our database.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Export all your data as JSON from your account settings
• Correct: Update your profile, email, and preferences at any time
• Delete: Permanently delete your account and all data from Settings > Data & Privacy
• Reset: Clear all study progress while keeping your account

6. Children's Privacy

ZeroGaps is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@zerogaps.app and we will promptly delete the account and associated data.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including password hashing, HTTPS encryption, and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens) and user preferences (theme). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
